The first symbolism that shows in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is the iconic mockingbird. This is the symbol that is represented multiple times in the novel. Many people has discussed about this and so did we. During the novel you read some interesting quotes found in the article. There is an example of one to the left, and theirs much more where that came from. The mockingbird is a resemblance to innocence in the novel. First leading evidence is the quote that they explain. "shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can, but remember its a sin to kill a mockingbird." This quote represents the innocence within people. Jem and Scout show innocence by helping the blacks out while other people for example Atticus is trying to ruin there innocence. That explains the dead mocking bird photo in the left. The second evidence is the colors the mockingbird show. Its colors are black and white, the skin colors of both black and white. This further proves the belief of innocence because of how its representing the innocence in both black and white. Both skin colors and show the possibility of innocence in both skin colors. Scout and Jem represent the white and the innocence the white could have, but then the racism in those people ruin and corrupt the innocence they represent. The blacks are a different story. They showed innocence from the beginning and continue to show if through out the story. In conclusion the mockingbird show innocence through out the story.
